Outlook Timeout durch POP3

Hallo,

Wir benutzen Intranator 5.0.9 Geschäfts-Bediener und während Klient wir Outlook 2003 verwenden. Wir verwenden POP3 als unsere Weise, die Post zu erhalten.

Manchmal sehr häufig, bricht Outlook das Sammeln von Post weil it' ab; s Timout ist erreicht worden. Selbst wenn Sie Abschaltung auf 10 Minuten einstellen, erhalten wir dieses.

Ist dieses ein bekanntes Problem?
Wie können wir dieses regeln?

The Clients are using POP3 to connect to Intranator.

We use the Web mail to remove the email causing the timeout, or we wait until it downloads anyway.

There is no error message.

It seems like Intranator POP3 server stops to send data.

Which version of Intranator do you run? We recently updated the POP3/IMAP mailserver in Intranator version 5.0.10.

Which Outlook 2003 service-pack is installed?

Yes, this is an annoying thing I understand enough German to create a mail and to read one, but nothing more. As I understand is Intranator build on Horde, which has English as default language...

We run Intranator 5.0.9, I will talk to our support and ask them to upgrade.

We use Outlook 2003 SP3, but we have tried with 2007 and Outlook Express and we get the same timeout.

If the problem is occuring with Outlook Express too this doesn't have anything to do with Outlook and will most probably occur with any other POP-client too.

If access via Webmail still works as expected, the account of the user is probably ok. But there is some POP-specific data stored in the mailbox databases of every user. Maybe something is broken there. So upgrading to 5.0.10 or even better, 5.0.11, would be the first thing to try.

You can do the update yourself, the menu is System > Update > Manuell. Click on the button "Auf neue Version prüfen". Then you should see information about the update(s). You can start the install-process via "Downloaden und installieren".

Hmm.. Or maybe Intranater has bone to pick with Microsoft ;-) I will try with Thunderbird...

We will try this!

Well, I just a user of Intranator so I dont have access to the System menu, but I will ask our postmaster to do the upgrade.
